Opening Times

Our telephone lines are open from 8am to 6pm. 

If you need to book an appointment or wish to speak to someone, please call the surgery on our main telephone number.  Alternatively, you can come to the surgery where Reception will be open from 8am to 6pm.  If you wish to speak to a Doctor or Nurse during our opening hours, you can leave a message with reception and they will arrange for someone to call you back.

Appointments can be booked online by either using Systm1 online, NHS App, please register with reception to use this service.

This email address is checked daily by staff. 

If you require medical attention while we are closed, you can call NHS 111, which is available to call 24 hours a days,7 days a week. You can also attend one of the walk in centres in the Leeds area:

Extended House Access Service has now been transferred to Seacroft Hospital where patient can see a GP between 6.30pm and 8.00pm Monday to Friday and both Saturday and Sunday. 

To access a routine GP appointment during the Out of Hours period, Monday to Friday, 6.30pm to 8pm,

Saturdays 8am to 2pm, and

Sundays 8am to midday,

please call 0113 206 2049.

Do not call this number outside of these hours as you will be unable to book an appointment.

Minor Injuries Units (MIUs) can treat less serious injuries and illnesses. The units can also do x-rays.

The Shakespeare Medical Centre can provide health advice and treatments for a range of conditions. It also provides traditional GP services for registered patients, and people not registered with the GP
practice.

The surgery is closed for staff training from 12:30pm on the second tuesday every month.  All emergency calls should be directed to the Out of Hours service on 0345 605 9999.

When We Are Closed

When the Surgery is closed and you need a Doctor out of normal surgery hours please telephone NHS 111where your needs will be assessed and advice will be offered you.

There are also the Minor Injuries Units clinics which are open everyday including bank holidays, details of which are on our Opening Times page.

Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
